The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which comes into force on the 25th May 2018, aims to protect privacy and personal data with clear penalties for those who fail to comply with the legislation. Are you GDPR ready?

To understand the principles behind GDPR, you need to consider that any data that you hold has been loaned to you by the owner, and they are in control of who has it and what they do with it.

Attending one of our events will equip you with knowledge about the new directive and offer steps you can take to make sure you are GDPR ready.

GDPR Birmingham will take place on the 7th March, 2017, at The Studio

GDPR Rugby will take place on the 14th March 2017 at Rugby College.

A London event will also be taking place- Venue and Date to be confirmed

You can find out more at gdprready.co.uk

This is an opportunity for you to ask questions about GDPR and find out how it will affect you, as well as planning routes to compliance.

As the scope of GDPR and it's requirements differ from the Data Protection act, it is key that you understand what the changes are, as breach reports will be made mandatory for all.

If your current technology does not allow for tokenization of data, data portability, accurate and secure data storage or the ability for a contact to access their personal data files, then this needs to be addressed or your business will not be compliant. The penalties for non-compliance are huge, with fines of up to €20 million or 4% of annual turnover, whichever is higher.

These events are free to attend, but spaces are limited. Click here to book your place today gdprready.co.uk/event

GDPR Ready is an OpusVL initiative designed to raise awareness about upcoming data protection changes, including both the business process adaptations and technical requirements needed to become compliant.
