On the 9th February, from 18.30 to 21.30, Odoo will be visiting SkillsMatter in London as part of their Version 10 launch tour, which has taken them all over the world.

For those of you who haven’t heard of Odoo yet, it is a business management system which provides a complete end-to end solution.

Odoo is suited to small and large companies alike, with specialist partners like ourselves, for managing complex project needs.

For the version 10 release, more than 112 tasks have been concluded by Odoo's internal R&D team of +150 developers.

3 key changes to Odoo

The first notable change has been made to the Manufacturing feature of the ERP.

The manufacturing sector is known to have multiple systems for different stages of the manufacturing process. This is not a scalable method and may restrict an organisations growth as well as wasting time on repetitive admin tasks.

Odoo have enhanced their application to combat this common problem through integrating production planning, quality management, shop floor control, maintenance, traceability, and PLM!

The second change to version 10 is the Helpdesk feature. This is a brand new application and allows businesses to log and track customer queries via email, live chat sessions, website forms, or even other third-party apps you may currently use.

This system is particularly useful for organisations with customer service departments or support tasks, as it allows a clear view of any queries logged and allows a variety of methods of ticket management and assignment of tasks

Additionally, a public FAQ or Forum can be easily added to your page with a dashboard to help you to get a full overview on your activities, actions, and performance KPIs.

A further addition to version 10 is the Odoo Studio, which is a handy tool designed to allow the non-techies among us to make a few simple customisations to the ERP with adding a single line of code.

You can customize reports, easily update translations, customize actions, design custom views, create new menus, and more

Other changes

Some applications have been completely reimagined and redeveloped, while others have more minor improvements which will result in a real difference in management and time-efficiency for users. Changes have also been made to website builder, e-commerce, expenses, and the API and performance of the software.
